Tornado Residents

As you are aware there was a meeting of residents from the tornado affected area at the Moseley CDT offices, on 9th August. Cllr Henley took some notes of the meeting and has forwarded them to you - we shall forward our notes as soon as they are typed.

The main issues that come out of the meeting were

Security – the removal of the security staff from areas that are not yet secured.

Rebuilding of homes – working with the insurance firms to ensure that homes are rebuild in an appropriate manner to their original condition – terraced house are rebuilt as an ’envelope’ scheme. This process could be facilitated and supported by the council.

Asbestos – guidance on filling the red bags!!

Activities for young people now and in the future.

As I discussed with Nikki I will be sending out details of the meeting later this evening and will be asking some of the recipients to ensure that the notice gets around the area.

I feel it would be beneficial to the residents if there would be someone present who could answer the question on the insurance companies and trying to get them to work together.
